Biological Architecture I

These paintings were all created prior to 2012, more or less.

They are part of an ongoing series that deals with the juxtaposition of large architectural shapes and much smaller organic forms that serve as endless inspiration for me. The search for a subtle balance between the man-made and natural worlds is the underlying theme in these paintings that are often inspired by a particular place, physical detail of a building or even the magnified image of a microbe.
